What a great way to end my busiest month to date! Thank you to all my wonderful clients for choosing me and entrusting me with your babies' first portraits.
I got to photograph a sweet 6 day old little girl and despite the awful weather, she sure was a ray of sunshine in my studio ;-) We got everything I could have hoped for and more! We got some smiles, we got some happy awake shots, and we got lots of curly sleepy shots.
Her smile just melts my heart :-)
Don't forget to like Mamique Photography on Facebook as many exciting announcements will be first made there.

North Vancouver Newborn Photographer - Oh so sleepy!
I always tell my clients to contact me before their precious bundle arrives so that we can get photos done within the first 10 days. Babies tend to be quite content when they're that young and really don't mind all the fussing I do over them :-)
This morning, I had a gorgeous 4 week old princess in my studio, and I told her mom we should be prepared for mostly awake shots as it is very rare to get a baby who's super sleepy at that age. Add to that, the poor thing hardly slept all night due to acid reflux and I was prepared for the worst. So imagine my surprise when she gave me a few solid yawns and then went straight to sleep. Hardly a peep out of her the entire session! Ahh, I could have photographed her all day, she was so good to me :-)
Thank you so much for bringing your sweet princess for her first portraits! I hope her tummy feels better soon. Enjoy!

Vancouver Maternity Photographer - Sunshine and belly
What a lovely day for an outdoor session! Although I hate the thought of summer ending, seeing the leaves starting to turn is getting me all excited about fall sessions :-)
I had the pleasure of photographing sweet A & P this morning and I just loved their energy. They were so cute together! Their baby is going to have so much fun growing up, and I can't wait to meet him in a few short weeks.

Burnaby Newborn Photographer - Smiles
I'm a bit late getting this up, but hopefully worth the wait. I photographed a beautiful princess on Thursday and I just couldn't get over how lovely she was. So peaceful and happy with whatever I wanted. The day was beautifully warm, too, so we got a chance to go outside.

Vancouver Photographer - It's in the details
I had a sleepy little girl in my studio on Monday evening. Unfortunately, I cannot show you the photos, so instead I wanted to share a tip on how you can put together some images from your session to make a gorgeous arrangement in your baby's nursery.
See, I'm a firm believer that it's all in the details. When I think back to when my own girls were just born, I don't think about what fun outfit or pose they were in. The memories I treasure are how tiny their fingers were, with those oh so delicate finger nails; the tiny skin flakes on their feet; the incredibly soft hair and the peach fuzz on their shoulders and ears; the smell of their skin and how unbelievably long their lashes seemed compared to their tiny features.
At every session, I try to capture at least some of those details for you. And having them displayed on your walls makes for such a lovely reminder as you watch your baby grow and change.

Anmore Maternity Photographer - Waiting for little brother
I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely bump and his family today. Yes HIS family! Another baby boy is on his way and I couldn't be more excited to meet him in a few weeks. I think big brother can't wait either. Though he wasn't in the mood for belly kisses, I have no doubt that once the baby is here, there will be a lot of kisses for everyone :-) Thanks so much for coming today and I can't wait to see you guys soon.

Burnaby Newborn Photographer - Thank Heavens for Little Girls
I just adore little girls and today's little cutie was no exception. At 7 weeks old, I was pleasantly surprised when she decided she would just sleep for me the whole time! She sure knows a way to my heart, and I have a feeling she will steal the heart of anyone lucky enough to meet her. But just take a look at her, how could you not fall in love with her instantly? Her lovely mommy didn't want to be in the pictures, but I'm so glad I convinced her to give it a try. Beautiful girls all around, and I can't wait to meet big sis when this tiny princess gets a bit older. I'm sure she's just as lovely! Thank you SO much for coming today. Enjoy!

How I spent my summer vacation
As many of you know, I went to Winnipeg at the end of July to visit my family. I don't care what people say about Winnipeg weather, the summers there are phenomenal! I'm one of the crazy people who loves heat, so I was in heaven and the mosquitoes really weren't that bad.
I got some much needed R&R and truly enjoyed spending some quality time with my girls doing nothing more than just hanging out in the backyard by the inflatable kids pool.
Of course my camera did come out a few times :-) Here are just a few of my favorites.

Vancouver Newborn Photographer - It's a BOY!
It had to happen one day..... I am so excited that the streak is finally over! I had the most gorgeous little BOY in my studio today. The first one of 2010, and hopefully not the last.
He was a dream. So sleepy and content. He let me try just about anything I wanted. I say just about, because there was one thing he wasn't willing to do. He wanted nothing to do with the hat I made for him the night before. Oh sure, he was fine will all the other hats we tried on him, just not that one, lol.
You may remember his gorgeous momma from a few weeks ago.
So happy to have met you little guy. Thank you for being so sweet and sleepy :-) And thank you C. and C. for bringing him to me. It was wonderful seeing you again and a pleasure having you in my studio.

Vancouver Newborn Photographer - Tiny
I returned from my vacation last night, and what better way to get back in the swing of things than with a sweet little girl this afternoon!
This tiny princess arrived two days before I left, and I was worried that at nearly 3 weeks, she'd be putting up a fight, but guess what, she slept essentially the whole time :-) She'd only wake up if she could tell mommy was nearby, then she wanted to eat, lol.
This lovely family just moved from Manitoba and their friends, as a going away gift, gave them a gift certificate for my services. I thought that was so sweet, that I made this sneak peek bigger than usual, because I know there are many people waiting to see this darling bundle of joy. Thank you so much for choosing me, and I hope you like the results :-) Enjoy!
