Vancouver Photographer - Mother's Day Sepcial

Just two weeks left until mother's day! What did you get your mom this year? What would you want to get? I am excited to say that I finally have a gorgeous portrait of me and my girls (I will share it on mothers day with you). I'm always the one behind the lens trying to capture all the little moments, thus I'm never in any of the photos.

 I swear, if something were to happen to me today, my girls would be left with just a handful of images of us together. I've promised myself to, at the very least, capture one portrait with each one of them on an annual basis.

My own sweet mama has lost her own mom (my grandma) before I was born. Growing up, I learned what an amazing person and mother my grandmother was, but what I remember most is how much my mom treasured the old photograph of the two of them together, standing by the sea, my grandmother wearing a gorgeous polka dot dress, and my own mom at just a few years old. My mom still has that image framed and prominently displayed in her home, many decades later. In this digital age we take photographs for granted, but I personally believe that thousands of quick snapshots pale in comparison to a single beautifully composed portrait. Because of that I am once again thrilled to offer the mother's day mini session to ensure you and your children have something to cherish for years to come.

This baby girl is so lucky to have such adoring parents and big brother to surround her with love and positivity. I know all dads love their baby girls, but when you meet one who is as smitten as this daddy is, it simply melts your heart. Every time she moved, or sighed or made any kind of noise his whole face would light up with pure joy. It truly made for a very memorable session to be surrounded by so much love. I felt very privileged to capture these moments for them. I hope I did them justice :-)

Sure, us mothers ADORE the darling hand made things from our children. And a day at the spa, or a fancy piece of jewellery is always appreciated ;-) But the reality is, that what most of us are missing are photos of us WITH our children. Most moms I know are the ones behind the lens capturing every precious moment of their darlings' lives. They fuss and they prim making sure everyone looks perfect, but so often forget to pass the camera to someone else so that they can be in some photos, too. I have countless photos of my family having a great time. I just wonder if my kids will actually remember that I was there, too, lol.
