Langley Newborn Photographer - Bursting with pride

My goodness, big sister was just delighted to have a baby sister to share her adventures with.  They were an absolute joy to photograph! Just look at all these smiles :-)

Vancouver Portrait Photographer - Not just for kids

From time to time, I love taking on a project that is completely outside of my usual work.  A client who listens to my directions and actually does what I ask? Unheard of!

Taking advantage of some late September sunshine, we walked around areas surrounding my studio and had some fun.

Langley Newborn Photographer - Giggles

I recently came across a cute quote that said "the best compliment you can give a photographer is to book a session".  I somewhat disagree.  I think the BEST compliment is when you book that photographer again!

I've been blessed over and over this year with so many of my previous clients bringing their newest family members to be photographed by me.  Not only does it make me feel incredibly honoured and happy, but also gives me a nice confidence boost!

I met this lovely family last summer when they welcomed baby girl #2 into their lives, and I was thrilled when I was asked to photograph baby girl #3 who arrived this summer.  It was so wonderful to see everyone again and to meet their brand new play mate.

Vancouver Newborn Photographer - Models

As most of you know, Vancouver can get pretty dark and dreary during the winter months. I love the look of soft natural light, and have invested heavily into equipment that will allow me to capture beautiful images, even in low lighting conditions, but there are days where it's so dark that natural light alone is just not enough.

So back in December I had the pleasure of photographing three adorable newborns whose parents were kind enough to bring them by my studio while a photographer friend of mine and I tried out different lighting set ups to create lighting similar to my naturally lit images.

I'm pleased to say that we were very happy with our results and given how rainy January has been, the new techniques have come in very handy!

The awesome thing about shooting with another photographer is being able to work together on some of the more challenging poses. Leslie is a talented photographer from Williams Lake, BC, and it felt like she could read my mind ;-) So much easier with an extra pair of hands!

The babies were absolutely gorgeous and very cooperative only adding to the already fantastic day :-)

Loved all of his hair!

This little girl was so relaxed the whole time she was here.

This feisty little girl was unconvinced that sleep was truly the best idea, but with some rocking and cuddling she eventually gave it a try :-)

Langley Baby Photographer - Sisterly Love

Two little girls means having fun with clothes and accessories! We had such a great time playing dress up and trying on different headbands and hats. I just fell in love with their gorgeous party dresses! So girly, so floaty, so heavenly; just what a little girl needs.

Big sis was practicing the night before our session, so she was ready to strike a pose when little sis needed a snack break. We had a wonderful time playing indoors and out until everyone was tuckered out (including me, lol!)

Vancouver Newborn Photography - Blue Eyes

This little fella had the most striking blue eyes I've ever seen on a newborn. He had such a friendly disposition and despite being a few weeks old, was happy to go along with my plans :-) I have a feeling he's going to break a lot of hearts when he grows up.

Langley Newborn Photographer - Beautiful Girls

Babies, babies, babies! I just adore them :-) This little cutie was no different. Her mommy emailed me to find out how quickly I could fit them into my schedule, because this little princess was already 14 days old. I very quickly replied: "can you be here tomorrow?" Yes, that meant my paperwork had to be put off AGAIN, but what better excuse than a sweet baby girl, lol. My next spot was nearly two weeks later so I was thrilled when I found out they could come.

Langley Baby Photographer - Miss V.

Always a pleasure to spend time with miss V. She's now at the shy stage, and her smiles were reserved only for mommy, who had to be within sight at all times. I know this phase will pass, but I sure miss the smiley girl I met in January who smiled at everything I did. Perhaps my jokes are getting stale, hahaha! Big smiles or not, she's still as cute as a button :-)

Vancouver Baby Photographer - One Year Later

Whenever my tiny clients come back all "grown up" I am reminded of just how incredibly quickly time files. Miss S. had the most adorable chubby cheeks when she came to see me at just 6 days old

And look at her now! Pretty little ballerina :-)

Vancouver Newborn Photographer - Cheeky

I had the pleasure of meeting a delightful little lady today. At only 6 days old and whopping 9lbs 1oz, she had the sweetest cheeks ever! She also knew what she liked and didn't like, lol. She loved being cozy, swaddled, or with mama, but did NOT like to have her hands posed! Don't get me wrong, though, she was an absolute dream to work with. It was great seeing you guys again and meeting your little girl.

Now on to the pictures!
